The Kharlian Lore Archive:About

From The Kharlian Lore Archive

ABOUT

Founded in late 1999 by Drakkaden, this archive represents the lore that has grown alongside the world of Valikorlia itself. What began as a small, home-grown setting soon drew in others—writers, players, and storytellers who joined in the early weeks, months, and years, and many of whom have remained ever since. Together, we've shaped a living world: a setting forged through roleplay, tested by years of campaigns and character stories, and guided always by steadfast referees and admins who kept the fires burning.

There have been stumbles—missed beats, half-finished arcs, squabbles, quarrels, and systems that didn’t always work—but through it all, Valikorlia has endured as a place for rich storytelling and shared creation. It’s been host to singular character narratives, small group adventures, sprawling epics, and great dominion plays that reshaped continents and altered the course of history. At times we’ve used our own rulesets, at others we’ve leaned into fantasy TTRPGs like D&D—but always in service of the setting, and the stories within it.

Here in this wiki, you’ll find the myths and truths of Valikorlia: its gods and Ancients, dragons and planes, peoples and kingdoms. Spanning thousands of in-world years, Valikorlia isn’t your off-the-shelf bog-standard fantasy realm. It’s not wholly unique, but it is wholly ours—shaped with care, time, and no small amount of love. A long-standing passion project that has drawn in hundreds of players over the years. And while many have come and gone, it continues to grow.

The archive is currently curated by Cort (Zangus), Chase (Phantos), Gurt (Zazen), Kenneth (Sieg), and Rustan (Levowitz), and stands as a tribute to the dozens of voices that have added their stories to the world of Valikorlia.
